My Approach

I provide an integrative counseling and coaching approach. You will learn practices and skills in order to build emotional well-being and healthier, more connected relationships. My MISSION is to help you realize a healthy relationship with yourself, first, in order to form healthy relationships with others.

 

I actively engage with my clients during sessions, with empathy, attunement and solution-oriented, psychoeducation, rather than passive listening or traditional talk therapy. I serve as a partner and guide, as you navigate your inner world, resulting in self-discovery, clarity, and empowerment to heal and build yourself up.

I work with clients who are ready to move beyond the emptiness of achievement-based, externally-focused esteem. I help you build healthy self-regard grounded in self-compassion, self-fulfillment and emotional well-being.

We have the science, therapy modalities and practices that lay the foundation for you to achieve optimum emotional health in order to truly thrive, not just survive. The key is to know what these practices are, cut through the rubbish, learn, do the work, practice emotional health skills, and build neuroplasticity that allows for more calm, joy, and self-trust.

My Story

Years ago, during my own separation, I found it difficult to find a counselor that understood how to resolve my severe anxiety, panic attacks, and painful despair. I became increasing more disappointed in myself for my "failed" attempts to feel better, as I went from one counselor to the next. 

Gratefully, I began working with an Emotional Health Coach who helped me learn evidence-based methods and practices, including Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, DBT skills, Mindful Self-compassion, and Parts Work based on the IFS Self-leadership Model. I gained awareness of my inner dialogue, hyper-vigilance, emotions, maladaptive protective strategies, and false beliefs. Within eight weeks, I began to actually feel better.

I went from feeling powerless to empowered, and from having daily anxiety attacks to emotional well-being, a sense of inner calm and self-trust.

 

I believe divorce, heartbreak, and codependency deserve a specialized recovery platform... and even more ideal... a therapist who has been through it. 

I believe my own recovery success is my most valuable credential.

This is what gives me a sense of purpose and accomplishment every day... to truly help others. Thank you for the opportunity to work with you.
